The main difference: recorded voice survey or live voice conversation?

Voiceform and SurveyConvo both let respondents speak and both can use AI to ask follow-up questions. The key difference is timing.

Voiceform's documented experience is turn-based: a survey presents a voice question, the respondent records an answer, and AI Probing can add another question. SurveyConvo runs a continuous live Conversation with an AI interviewer that speaks, listens, and responds.

Recorded voice can be a good addition to a survey. Live voice can feel closer to an interview. The right choice depends on whether you want a form that accepts richer answers or an interviewer that carries the exchange.

Voice and text in each product

Voiceform supports recorded voice and video answers. Creators can enable a text alternative on a Voice Response question, and they can also use separate open-text fields. This gives respondents multiple ways to answer, although the creator controls which alternatives appear.

SurveyConvo is voice-first. The respondent enters a live Conversation with a Convo Agent, and text becomes available within that same Conversation. Text also opens when microphone access is unavailable or declined. The current introduction is microphone-oriented, so SurveyConvo should not be described as offering an equal voice-or-text choice before the Conversation begins.

If respondents need time to prepare and re-record a media answer, Voiceform's asynchronous model may be preferable. If the value comes from an immediate spoken exchange, SurveyConvo is the closer fit.

Follow-up and question control

Voiceform AI Probing lets a creator set a goal for a voice question and allow one to five AI follow-ups, or let the system decide automatically. This is a clear, bounded way to add depth while retaining a survey structure.

SurveyConvo owners configure an overall interview goal, behavioral instructions, and ordered required questions. The Convo Agent uses the continuing Conversation to decide when a follow-up is useful while making sure the required topics are covered.

Voiceform offers more explicit per-question probe limits. SurveyConvo offers a more continuous interviewer model. Neither distinction alone proves that one will ask better questions in practice; that would require a matched product test that this comparison does not claim to provide.

Structured survey questions

Voiceform documents a broad set of question types, including voice, video, open text, multiple choice, checkboxes, dropdowns, ratings, NPS, matrices, numeric fields, dates, and contact fields.

SurveyConvo uses interview questions rather than a general-purpose survey schema. It is strongest when the respondent needs to explain an experience, decision, expectation, or problem. It is not intended to replace transactional forms, payments, signatures, or other deterministic data-entry workflows.

Choose Voiceform when structured measures and recorded media answers must coexist in the same instrument. Choose SurveyConvo when the AI-led interview itself is the primary instrument.

Distribution and participant access

Voiceform sharing options include public links and many embed formats: standard, single-question, full-page, popup, slider, popover, and side tab. Voiceform also describes an audience option for participant recruitment when enabled.

SurveyConvo provides a Share Page, iframe, and floating widget. It expects the customer to bring the audience and does not currently include participant recruitment.

Voiceform therefore has the broader documented distribution and recruitment story. SurveyConvo covers the common link and website-embed paths for teams speaking with their own customers or users.

Analysis and access

Voiceform documents transcription, translation, sentiment, keywords, themes, AI summaries, exports, and access to raw recordings. Its Nova research assistant can query and visualize survey data on custom packages.

SurveyConvo preserves the transcript and recording when applicable, then generates a summary, sentiment, structured findings, and recommended actions for review.

Voiceform's public pricing page presents Free, paid self-serve, Enterprise, Lite, and custom options with different allowances and billing terms. SurveyConvo publishes plan prices and completed-Conversation allowances. Because the products package and meter usage differently, verify the applicable terms directly with each vendor rather than comparing headline quotas as if they were equivalent.

Bottom line

Choose Voiceform when you want a survey builder that combines structured questions with recorded voice or video, controlled AI probes, flexible embeds, and optional recruitment.

Choose SurveyConvo when you want a live voice-first AI interviewer, text available inside the Conversation, and a focused workflow from a person's spoken explanation to findings and recommended actions.

Choose SurveyConvo if you need

  • A live spoken exchange rather than a sequence of audio recordings
  • Text availability inside the same AI-led Conversation
  • An interview guide focused on required questions and answer-aware follow-up
  • A direct path from each Conversation to findings and recommended actions

Choose Voiceform if you need

  • Recorded voice and video inside a conventional mixed-method survey
  • Broad structured question types such as NPS, ratings, matrix, and multiple choice
  • Fine control over the number of AI probes for each voice question
  • More embed formats or optional participant recruitment
